MARCO'S MOMENT

An important season, his best for Milan. Significant for the team and the fans. Five goals in 2009 and ten in 2010: that's how Marco Borriello's season has been so far. A positive run for Marco.

MILAN - The beautiful goal against Bari on 20 February, in a match dominated by Milan for 90 minutes against a strong opponent at home, had been his last for some weeks. Then, at the end of March, he went back to scoring and scored a series of goals again. With consistency and conviction. Marco Borriello is on a roll again: four goals in three consecutive matches. Not just the two yesterday against Catania, but also the delicate penalty against Lazio and the opening goal at Cagliari.

Since he has started playing with consistency from the start, on 31 October against Parma, the Rossoneri striker has scored 13 goals in Serie A and 1 in the Champions League. Before Parma, he had made some substitute appearences but no goals, having managed to withstand some minor injuries, still caused by the unfortunate previous season. From Parma to today Borriello has produced goals and created play with his movement and his performances. He also won penalties against Cagliari, Zurich, and Siena.

Here is his 2009/2010 season, characterised by splendid goals with overhead kicks against Parma, Genoa, Siena, and Bari:
OCTOBER: 2 goals, Milan-Parma 2-0.
NOVEMBER: 2 goals, 1 in Milan-Cagliari 4-3 and 1 in Milan-Marseille 1-1.
DECEMBER: 1 goal, Milan-Sampdoria 3-0.
JANUARY: 3 goals, 2 in Milan-Genoa 5-2 and 1 in Milan-Siena 4-0.
FEBRUARY: 2 goals, 1 in Bari-Milan 0-2 and 1 in Milan-Atalanta 3-1.
MARCH: 1 goal, Milan-Lazio 1-1.
APRIL: 3 goals, 1 in Cagliari-Milan 2-3 and 2 in Milan-Catania 2-2.
